How Should the Church Look?

In part of John’s vision of heaven, he describes the millions of people worshipping Jesus and thanking Him for their salvation. Take special note of his description:

And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation…

Even in heaven with our resurrected bodies it will be obvious to all that we were created with different physical characteristics. This means that differences and diversity were part of God’s plan from the foundation of the earth. They are to be celebrated in God’s kingdom.

That’s what you will find at Central Baptist Church. We have members and leaders from at least eight Native American tribes, Hispanic members, African American brothers and sisters, and even a few Caucasian’s like me, the pastor. You will regularly hear songs in a variety of languages. You will hear the old hymns and a variety of chorus’s.

We all come together with our diversities and differences for one purpose. That purpose is to worship Jesus. Yes, we think it’s just a taste of what heaven will be like. I encourage you to join us Sunday’s at 10:45 a.m. and get a glimpse of our eternity together.
